This is a summary of the 2026 Filipino Holidays and special days.

Regular National Holidays

These are official public holidays observed nationwide, usually with work and class suspensions:

| Holiday | Date | | --------------------------------- | ----------------------- | | New Year’s Day | January 1st | | Maundy (Holy) Thursday | (Holy Week) | | Good Friday | (Holy Week) | | Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) | April 9 | | Labor Day | May 1 | | Independence Day | June 12 | | National Heroes Day | (last Monday of August) | | Bonifacio Day | November 30 | | Christmas Day | December 25 | | Rizal Day | December 30 |

Each Barangay will have its own Fiesta. These are on different dates around April - June each year. I’m not going to attempt to capture these dates here.

Special (Non-Working) Days

These are official non-working. | Special Non-Working Day | Date | | ------------------------------------------ | ----------------------- | | Chinese New Year | February 17 | | Black Saturday | Day after Good Friday | | Ninoy Aquino Day | August 21 | | All Saints’ Day | November 1 | | All Souls’ Day | November 2 | | Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary | December 8 | | Christmas Eve | December 24 | | Last Day of the Year | December 31 |

Special (Working) Day

This is recognized but not a non-working day (work still happens normally):

| Special (Working) Day | Date | | ---------------------------------------- | ----------- | | EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary | February 25 |

Islamic Religious Holidays (Dates Vary Annually)

The Philippines also recognizes two major Islamic holidays as national holidays, though their dates change yearly because they follow the lunar calendar. These are declared closer to when they occur:

| Islamic Religious Holidays | Date | | ------------------------------ | ----------- | | Eidul Fitr (End of Ramadan) | Date varies | | Eidul Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) | Date varies |

Project: Water Well For the Girlfriend's Sister's House

I wasn't in the Philippines when our well was originally dug. The girlfriend took a couple of pictures, but didn't save them. So, I didn't have any good pictures of the local crew digging ou r well. Fortunately, my girlfriend's sister bought land near our house and is building a house.
